Hunting Bolivia

Bolivia's Most Exclusive Dove Hunting & Amazon Fishing Experience

Bolivia FAQ & General Information

Basic Geography

Bolivia is a landlocked country in central South America with diverse geography, a rich culture and some of the world's most revered hunting and fishing. The country is bordered by Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Paraguay and Chile. La Paz is the administrative capital city and Sucre is the constitutional capital. Santa Cruz, Bolivia's largest city, serves as the point of entry for all Bolivian Adventures sporting programs.
While the west of Bolivia is dominated by the Andes mountain range, the east is flat with varying ecosystems. The northeast department of Beni is engulfed by the southern Amazon basin. Protected rivers and lagoons hold huge populations of game fish including peacock bass and payara.
The southeast of Bolivia is home to vast expanses of agriculture. Fields of soy, sorghum and sunflower provide the perfect habitat for millions of migrating dove and pigeon.

Santa Cruz

Santa Cruz is both a state (department) and a city. Santa Cruz serves as Bolivia's main trade center with much of the country's wealth concentrated there. Santa Cruz is a modern, lively city with gourmet restaurants, luxury hotels, fine art and entertainment. The area outside the city produces much of the country's cattle, cotton, sugarcane, coffee, tobacco, rice and fruit. There is also large-scale production of sorghum, corn, soy and sunflower. Oil and gas production in Santa Cruz is oon the rise.

Language & Currency

Spanish is the official language of Bolivia, although there are 36 different native languages that are commonly spoken - the two most common being Quechua and Aymara.

The official currency of Bolivia is the Boliviano, but US currency is widely accepted at hotels, restaurants and at our hunting and fishing lodges.

Climate & Weather Links

Although Bolivia is situated entirely within the tropics, there are a wide range of climates region by region. In the mountains and highlands, the weather is cold and dry. In the lower regions the climate is warmer and more hummid. Being south of the equator, seasons run opposite of those in the northern hemisphere - spring and summer in the US coincide with Bolivia's fall and winter.
